University of Phoenix Leadership Elected to National Association of Veterans’ Program Administrators Board of Directors

Andrea Siegrist-Baez will serve a one year term representing and supporting region members

University of Phoenix is pleased to announce the election of Andrea Siegrist-Baez, director of Veterans Affairs Operations, to the National Association of Veterans’ Program Administrators (NAVPA) Board of Directors as Membership Committee Chair and Region VII Delegate.

In the NAVPA Board of Director role, Siegrist-Baez will represent and support the institutions and members from Region VII, serving AZ, NM, OK, TX, and UT. Siegrist-Baez was previously elected to the NAVPA Board of Delegates by other voting members of Region VII, and served as the Membership Committee Chair.

“All of us at the University of Phoenix are proud of Andrea for her active engagement with NAVPA and especially her election to the Board of Directors,” states John Woods, provost at University of Phoenix. “She is a champion for veteran students to have the best possible experience, both here at the University and in the broader NAVPA community.”

In her current role at the University located within the Registrar’s Office, Siegrist-Baez leads the Veterans Affairs Operations team in supporting veteran students, reviewing their schedule, courses, and enrollment, and submitting enrollment certifications to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

“When I first joined NAVPA, it was such a positive experience meeting people who supported student veterans and sharing that energy and passion to help. I felt immediately that it is a special organization to be part of, a community that is mission-based, and I am proud to now be part of leading their mission,” Siegrist-Baez shares.

NAVPA is a recognized organization of program administrators who work for universities and colleges, trade schools and apprenticeship programs across the U.S. to ensure student veterans are provided the best services and most accurate access to their GI Bill® benefits. The NAVPA Board of Directors works with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Education, and Department of Defense to promote the improvement and development of all educational opportunities to active duty personnel, veterans, and their dependents.

The University of Phoenix is a NAVPA member institution and University leadership has a history of service with NAVPA. The University’s Vice President of Veterans and Military Government Affairs Patrick Sutliff is also an executive member and delegate-at-large for the NAVPA Board of Directors. He has served on the Board for 27 years.

Siegrist-Baez previously served in the role of Director of Classroom Operations at University of Phoenix. She has been an employee of the University for 20 years.
