AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., (“AmTrust” or the “Company”), a global specialty property casualty insurer, today announced the appointment of James Thanasules as President of AmTrust Title Insurance Company (“AmTrust Title”). In this role, he will oversee AmTrust Title’s operations providing title insurance for the commercial and residential real estate industries.

Thanasules joined AmTrust in 2016 as Senior Vice President, Chief New York State Counsel, and has more than 25 years of experience in title servicing. Before AmTrust, he was Vice President and Senior Underwriting Counsel for First American Title Insurance Company’s New York Agency Division.

Throughout his career, Thanasules worked extensively in both the direct and agency title operations. As a past president of the New York State Land Title Association, he has demonstrated his industry leadership by presenting training courses and continuing legal education (CLE) seminars on a variety of topics such as claims, blockchain, cybersecurity and more.

Thanasules began his career as a financial analyst with Interpublic Group, then worked for New York law firms as an attorney associate before entering the insurance industry. Thanasules earned his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University, where he also holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting.
