Designed to deliver up to half a billion dollars back to customers, this free, simplified program is part of the retailer’s commitment to making every trip and dollar count through a more rewarding experience.

JCPenney will also offer exciting opportunities to earn even more rewards, including additional savings in-store and the chance to meet NBA legend and JCPenney brand ambassador, Shaquille O’Neal.

JCPenney today announced the launch of its new JCPenney Rewards and Credit Program, a free loyalty program that offers a simpler, even more compelling experience with the potential to deliver half a billion dollars back into the pockets of America’s diverse working families.

Last year, JCPenney announced a $1 billion reinvestment plan to further improve customer experience and operational efficiencies. Now, with more than 20 million Rewards Members that consistently shop at JCPenney an average five times per year, JCPenney will ensure all customers feel rewarded through its ongoing commitment to making every dollar and every trip count. The new Rewards Program will double the rate at which Rewards members earn points, ensuring every Rewards member gets money back, every year – no matter what.

The introduction of the new Rewards and Credit Program is the latest example of JCPenney’s longstanding history of rewarding customers and providing access to affordable fashion.

“We want every trip to JCPenney to be worth it. We want it to be easier to take advantage of our rewards, easier to reach rewards milestones, and to make it a sure thing that every member sees rewards each year,” said Katie Mullen, chief customer officer, JCPenney. “Enhancing our Rewards Program is an important piece of how we bring value to our customers, but not the only piece. We’re already known for offering the widest range of accessible fashion across beauty, home, apparel, fine jewelry, salon and more, and we want to continue to earn the loyalty of America’s diverse working families.”

Enhancements to JCPenney’s Rewards and Credit Program

JCPenney’s new Rewards and Credit Program will provide great value for customers, helping them get more, earn more and save more during every trip:

  • Get More. In addition to offering style and quality at great prices every day, JCPenney’s Rewards Program is free to join, guarantees $20 in CashPass Rewards and allows rewards to be stacked on top of other coupons and can be used on any purchase.
  • Earn More. Customers who join JCPenney’s Rewards program will reach rewards up to two times faster, earning at least one CashPass point per $1 spent and receiving a $10 CashPass Reward when they hit $200. JCPenney has also standardized their Rewards Program, offering members incentives including a $10 CashPass Reward just for joining and another $10 CashPass Reward on their birthday.
  • Save More. Customers who are JCPenney cardholders will save even more, getting JCPenney’s Best Price Guarantee and earning CashPass Rewards 50% faster than ever before when using a JCPenney Credit Card for purchases. Cardholders will earn 1.5 CashPass points per $1 spent, receive a $10 CashPass Reward when they spend $133, and enjoy an extra 35% off their first purchase with their JCPenney Credit Card.

Score More Rewards

JCPenney is also offering exciting opportunities to unlock additional savings and earn even more rewards, including the chance to meet NBA legend and JCPenney brand ambassador, Shaquille O’Neal, who embodies the sentiment of more, more, more as much as JCPenney’s Rewards Program.

  • More, More, More Event. In the spirit of reliving the singular time he made a three-point shot during his NBA career, Shaq is partnering with JCPenney to share how Rewards members can get more, earn more and save more during JCPenney’s More, More, More Event. On May 4, anyone who comes to their preferred JCPenney location between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. local time, signs up for Rewards or shows their Rewards status and takes Shaq’s challenge to score a three-point basket into a shopping cart will receive a mystery coupon worth at least $10 and up to $100 off, while supplies last.
  • Score More Points Social Giveaway: Rewards members are also invited to film their attempt to shoot a three-point basket and share it on social with #JCPRewards for the chance to be the one lucky fan selected to meet Shaq in-person and show off their three-point skills later in the year.
