Successful story pitches are eligible for up to $5,000 USD in cash advances and ongoing monetization via Wattpad’s paid content rev-share

Wattpad, a leading global webnovel platform from WEBTOON Entertainment, is accepting open pitches for its Wattpad Originals program. Starting today, authors can pitch English-language stories and concepts to Wattpad’s Editorial Team for inclusion in the Wattpad Originals program, where writers can receive an advance for their story idea and participate in the platform’s paid content program.

Launched in 2023, Wattpad Originals is a catalog of over 1,600 curated stories that receive support from Wattpad’s Editorial Team. Wattpad Originals stories are part of Wattpad’s paid content program, which allows readers to pay to read ahead or wait to read for free. This program allows writers to strike a balance between building their audience through limited free reading, while also offering paid early access to new chapters for their most passionate readers. Readers can unlock early access to new chapters with Coins, or Wattpad’s Premium and Premium+ subscriptions.

To pitch a story for consideration, authors must submit a logline for a fresh, new story idea, a 500-word overview and a polished first chapter. Submissions must be for an ongoing story and fit within one of six popular verticals: Dangerous Love, Hot Encounter, Werewolf, Para-Romantasy, Slice of Life, and Speculative Fiction.

Acquired ongoing stories can receive an advance of up to $5,000 USD, pre-development support from Wattpad’s Editorial Team, and inclusion in Wattpad’s Originals program.
