University of Phoenix College of Nursing Celebrates Ten Years of Accreditation for Master of Science in Nursing Program

Milestone highlights a decade of academic excellence and commitment to nursing education

University of Phoenix is proud to announce that its College of Nursing has achieved a significant milestone: ten consecutive years of accreditation for its Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This achievement reflects the College’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation and nursing education.

“The College of Nursing’s CCNE accreditation affirms the strength of its academic leadership and the integrity of its programs” said John Woods, Ph.D., provost and chief academic officer at University of Phoenix. “Our nursing programs are thoughtfully designed to support working adults in advancing their careers, and we are proud of the faculty and leadership who ensure these programs uphold the highest standards of academic and professional quality.”

CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency committed to promoting the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs in nursing. The Commission serves the public interest by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices. As a voluntary, self-regulatory process, CCNE accreditation supports and encourages continuous quality improvement in nursing education.

“Achieving ten years of continued accreditation is a testament to the unwavering commitment and collaboration of our entire team,” said Raelene Brooks, Ph.D., dean of the College of Nursing at University of Phoenix. “This milestone reflects our dedication to creating an environment where every student can thrive, engage with evolving healthcare practices, and graduate prepared to meet the demands of the profession.”

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of nurses is projected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations through 2028. The rapid employment growth projected for nurses results from an emphasis on preventive care, rising rates of chronic conditions, and an aging population.

The College of Nursing recognizes that flexible, career-relevant programs are essential to preparing students for contemporary nursing practice. Students can pursue a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) through a variety of specialized tracks, including:

  • MSN/family nurse practitioner
  • MSN/psychiatric health nurse practitioner
  • MSN with a concentration in informatics
  • MSN with a concentration in nurse administration
  • MSN with a concentration in nurse education

University of Phoenix nursing students also benefit from access to experienced faculty, who bring an average of 30.2 years of professional experience to the classroom. The current faculty includes two chief executive officers, two chief nursing officers and 13 directors of service.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master’s degree program in nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at University of Phoenix are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.
