Collaborative Effort Promotes The Institutes CPCU Collegiate Studies Program and Elevates Insurance as a Career Path

The Institutes Knowledge Group, Association of Bermuda Insurers & Reinsurers (ABIR), and Bermuda College announced a partnership to expand opportunities for college students in Bermuda to learn critical leadership and technical insurance skills through The Institutes CPCU® Collegiate Studies Program. This collaboration is a key initiative to educate Bermuda College’s students on technical insurance skills, connect them with a professional network through ABIR, and elevate their awareness of the rewarding career opportunities the risk management and insurance sectors provide.

In the fall of 2024, Bermuda College introduced The Institutes’ CPCU 500 Becoming a Leader in Risk Management and Insurance course, with CPCU 520 Meeting Challenges Across Insurance Operations scheduled for the spring semester. These courses are designed to provide students with foundational knowledge in risk management and insurance while offering them a pathway to earn credits toward The Institutes Designations globally recognized CPCU program.

The CPCU designation is widely respected as the premier leadership credential in property-casualty insurance, symbolizing a high level of expertise and professionalism. By taking these courses through Bermuda College, students gain access to rigorous curriculum and invaluable networking opportunities through ABIR member organizations, preparing them for leadership roles in a field critical to global resilience and economic stability.

The Institutes Knowledge Group brings more than 110 years of expertise in designing and delivering insurance and risk management professional development programs to this partnership. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to educating the next generation of insurance and risk management professionals.
