Infinitum Named to Fast Company’s Annual List of the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies of 2025

Ranking No. 19 overall and No. 1 in the energy for leading electric motor industry into a new era of breakthrough efficiency, serviceability and sustainability

Infinitum, creator of the sustainable air-core motor, today announced it has been named to Fast Company’s prestigious list of the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies of 2025, ranking No. 19 overall and No. 1 in the energy category. This year’s list spotlights more than 600 organizations that are setting new standards across 58 sectors of the economy.

Infinitum has created a new paradigm for an electric motor that can power the world with less energy and fewer carbon emissions, while promoting repairability and circularity. The company recently doubled its motor deployments for cooling equipment inside some of the largest AI data centers — where they consistently reduce energy by upwards of 20%.

With its unique stator design and integrated variable frequency drive, Infinitum motor systems produce 20% fewer emissions than conventional motors and also have the benefit of being 50% lighter, while using no iron and 66% less copper. Infinitum's ability to rightsize motors to fit the application means each motor requires fewer amps, freeing up power capacity within the facility.

Infinitum’s sustainable design uses fewer raw materials, streamlining manufacturing and lowering costs across the value chain, while its modular, Lego-like architecture simplifies assembly and enhances serviceability. The motor’s reusable components extend product life for customers and help keep motors out of landfills.

“Motors are the unseen workhorses of our economy, consuming half of the electricity produced in the US today,” said Ben Schuler, Infinitum’s founder and CEO. “Infinitum is helping the world’s most power-intensive facilities, including mission critical data centers, consume energy more responsibly, while improving their bottom lines in an environment where every watt counts. We’re extremely honored to be recognized by Fast Company as one of the top 50 most innovative companies in the world.”

The World’s Most Innovative Companies stands as Fast Company’s hallmark franchise and one of its most anticipated editorial efforts of the year. To determine honorees, Fast Company’s editors and writers review companies driving progress around the world and across industries, evaluating thousands of submissions through a competitive application process. The result is a globe-spanning guide to innovation today, from early-stage startups to some of the most valuable companies in the world.

“Our list of the Most Innovative Companies offers both a comprehensive look at innovation today and a playbook for the future,” said Fast Company editor-in-chief Brendan Vaughan. “This year, we recognize companies that are harnessing AI in deep and meaningful ways, brands that are turning customers into superfans by overdelivering for them, and challengers that are introducing bold ideas and vital competition to their industries. At a time when the world is rapidly shifting, these companies are charting the way forward.”

The full list of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies honorees can now be found at fastcompany.com. It will also be available on newsstands beginning March 25.

Fast Company will host the Most Innovative Companies Summit and Gala for honorees on June 5. The summit features a day of inspiring content, followed by a creative black-tie gala including networking, a seated dinner, and an honoree presentation.
