Smart Care Acquires Mr. C Refrigeration

Transaction bolsters Smart Care’s capabilities in the South-Central region

Smart Care, a portfolio company of Wind Point Partners (“Wind Point”), is pleased to announce its recent acquisition of Mr. C Refrigeration, Inc. (“Mr. C”), a cold storage and refrigeration installation and repair company located in the South-Central U.S. The transaction closed on June 18, 2025.

The move advances Smart Care’s growth strategy and improves its ability to quickly respond to customer needs. With the addition of Mr. C, Smart Care furthers its commercial refrigeration capabilities in Kentucky and the surrounding region.

The addition of Mr. C Refrigeration represents Smart Care’s thirteenth acquisition overall since partnering with Wind Point.

Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. C is a provider of installation, emergency repair, and preventative maintenance services for refrigeration and HVAC equipment. Mr. C joins Smart Care’s Climate Solutions business, which specializes in refrigeration systems and is known for service quality and engineering expertise.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Smart Care is a market leader in stand-alone refrigeration, rack refrigeration, HVAC, hot-side commercial cooking and specialty coffee and beverage equipment. Its Climate Solutions business serves customers spanning grocers, warehouse operators, convenience stores and restaurants across the U.S.; and its Foodservice Equipment Solutions business serves the needs of healthcare, restaurants, convenience stores, corporate facilities, and grocers.
