ACI Worldwide’s Craig Ramsey to Serve on U.S. Faster Payments Council’s Board of Directors

ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), an original innovator in global payments technology, today announced that the U.S. Faster Payments Council’s (FPC) membership has elected Craig Ramsey, Head of Real-Time and Account-to-Account Payments, to serve on the FPC’s Board of Directors.

The FPC is an industry-led organization committed to advancing safer, faster payments in the United States. As a representative of the Technology Providers segment, Ramsey will serve a three-year term beginning July 1. He previously served as a member of the FPC Board Advisory Group, which advises the FPC Board of Directors and FPC staff, and has presented at member meetings across the United States. Ramsey also chairs a sub-group, ‘Access to Technology,’ within the FPC’s Financial Inclusion Work Group.

“I’m thrilled to continue partnering with the FPC, especially during this pivotal and transformative moment for faster payments adoption in the U.S.,” Ramsey said. “In my time at ACI Worldwide, I have worked to unlock exciting, new use cases for the adoption of electronic and faster payments. I look forward to continuing to help the FPC increase adoption of faster payments so that we can unlock long-term economic benefits for consumers and businesses alike.”

Ramsey has more than 30 years of experience working with banks to support their corporate payments and banking needs. He has worked on major industry initiatives including SWIFT upgrades, the introduction of SEPA and PSD2, CLS, ISO 20022 and the global launch of real-time payments. Ramsey also currently serves on the Board of the European Credit Risk Institute and recently earned the Accredited Faster Payments Professional designation, a first-of-its-kind professional certification delivered in partnership between Nacha and the FPC.

In the U.S., Ramsey has played a crucial role in ACI’s efforts to support financial institutions with their processing of real-time payments. ACI’s Real-Time Payments solution allows for connectivity and payment processing for the primary U.S. domestic real-time schemes, including the FedNow Service, The Clearing House’s RTP network and Zelle. ACI was among the first service providers to support transaction activity for financial institutions on the FedNow Service and was also a FedNow Instant Payment Pioneer.

“Craig and ACI have been trusted, long-time partners of the FPC,” said Reed Luhtanen, Executive Director and CEO of the FPC. “He has significant experience in building solutions that have helped increase real-time payments adoption in the United States, with strong connections that span the entire payments ecosystem. We are excited to welcome Craig to the FPC’s Board of Directors.”

ACI supports more than 2,350 banks and more than 80,000 merchants worldwide. ACI currently powers 26 domestic and pan-regional real-time schemes across six continents — including 11 central infrastructures. Globally, ACI serves all 10 of the world’s largest financial institutions by asset value and provides solutions that move trillions of dollars through more than one billion transactions daily.
