Sabey Data Centers Breaks Ground on Final Phase of Ashburn Campus Expansion

New Building to Deliver Additional Capacity in Northern Virginia’s Premier Data Center Market

Sabey Data Centers, a leading data center developer, owner and operator, announces today it is under way on the construction for Building A, the third and final facility on its highly connected Ashburn campus. Located in Loudoun County’s renowned “Data Center Alley,” this expansion will initially deliver 18 megawatts of leasable power capacity, with an additional 36 megawatts planned for future delivery. Upon completion, it will become the first three-story data center in the Sabey portfolio, offering a total of 54 megawatts of power capacity.

With an expected Ready for Service date in 2026, Ashburn A is engineered to support various cooling configurations, including air-cooled, liquid-cooled or hybrid environments, accommodating high-density deployments exceeding 100 kilowatts (kW) per rack. This development underscores Sabey's commitment to delivering scalable and efficient infrastructure solutions to meet the evolving demands of enterprise and hyperscale clients.

"Starting construction on Building A marks a significant milestone for Sabey Data Centers as we continue to expand our presence in Northern Virginia," said Tim Mirick, President of Sabey Data Centers. "This development will create significant additional capacity and room for our customers to efficiently and sustainably scale. "

Sabey's Ashburn campus spans 38 acres and, upon full build-out, will offer a total campus capacity of 85 MW. The entire facility is designed with energy efficiency in mind, with the current buildings averaging an annualized Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.35, thereby reducing both emissions and total cost of ownership.

The Ashburn A expansion reinforces Sabey’s long-term commitment to delivering secure, scalable and sustainable infrastructure in one of the world’s most competitive data center markets. As the company continues to grow its national footprint, the Ashburn campus remains a key part of Sabey’s strategy to meet the evolving demands of today’s digital economy.
