Lattice Expands Low Power, Small FPGA Portfolio with High I/O Density and Secure Device Options

Doubles its general purpose, secure control device options with new Certus-NX and MachXO5-NX FPGA devices —

Lattice Semiconductor (NASDAQ: LSCC), the low power programmable leader, today announced that the company expanded its small FPGA portfolio with new, high I/O density options in the Lattice Certus™-NX FPGA and Lattice MachXO5™-NX FPGA device families. The new offerings include multiple logic density and I/O options in a variety of new packages. These new devices are ideal for a wide range of solutions that require low power consumption, a small form factor, high 3.3V I/O, and security capabilities—making them well-suited for power-constrained AI, Industrial, Communications, Server, and Automotive applications.

“At Lattice, we’re committed to empowering our customers with the flexibility and features they need to innovate across a wide range of applications,” said Dan Mansur, Corporate Vice President, Product Marketing at Lattice Semiconductor. “By introducing higher I/O density and additional security-focused configurations in compact, low power devices, we’re enabling developers with new ways to address the stringent thermal, connectivity, and form factor constraints of their designs.”

Built on the award-winning Lattice Nexus™ FPGA platform, the newly added Lattice Certus-NX and MachXO5-NX devices offer the following features in comparison to competing FPGAs of a similar class in market:

  • Robust and Customizable Connectivity in Small Form Factor
    • Highest I/O count per package, including 3.3V I/O with up to 2X more I/O per package body size
    • Differential I/O (1.5 Gbps) enabling up to 70% faster data transfer
  • Industry-leading System Integration Capabilities
    • Up to 4X lower power enabling simplified thermal management
    • Fast time to market and cost efficiency through no power sequencing order requirements
    • Integrated flash options for enhanced secure configuration
    • Up to 12X faster configuration performance for ultrafast boot time
  • Highest Reliability and Device Security
    • Up to 100X lower soft error rate, improving system reliability for safety-critical applications
    • Built-in SEC and memory block ECC for SEU protection

The new Certus-NX and MachXO5-NX FPGA devices are shipping today and are supported by the latest release of Lattice Radiant™ design software.
