University of Phoenix Leadership Presents at Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation Workforce Summit

Vice President of Workforce Solutions at University of Phoenix and HR consultant Jeanne Meister will deliver the keynote presentation for the event

University of Phoenix is proud to lead a general session at the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation’s annual Workforce Summit on Aug. 27 in Phoenix. The session will feature Leo Goncalves, vice president of the University’s Workforce Solutions Group, and Jeanne Meister, a sought-after consultant and author of three best-selling books on corporate universities and the future of work.

The session will explore how generative artificial intelligence, or generative AI, is reshaping the workplace and how human resources and learning leaders can use it to boost productivity, drive innovation and reinvent learning strategies. It will also share findings from the 2025 Generative AI Report: Learning Fuels Human + AI Collaboration, commissioned by University of Phoenix.

“Generative AI is not just a technological shift; it offers a strategic imperative for HR and learning leaders,” Meister said. “As organizations grapple with rapid change, this summit offers a timely platform to explore how AI can unlock new pathways for leadership development, employee engagement and talent mobility.”

The 2025 Generative AI Report, based on a national survey of more than 600 HR leaders and workers, reveals that 74 percent of HR and learning leaders are now piloting or using generative AI in learning and development, up from 40 percent in 2024. The study also highlights a growing demand for generative AI collaboration skills, with nearly half of leaders and 39 percent of workers expressing interest in developing the ability to co-create with AI.

The report also identifies critical gaps that could hinder progress, including a persistent generative AI gender gap and a disconnect between leader and worker perceptions of AI’s benefits. While 63 percent of men report using generative AI tools at work monthly or more, only 47 percent of women say the same. Additionally, workers cite a lack of clear AI usage policies as their top concern.

“Employers are navigating a complex talent landscape, and generative AI offers a powerful opportunity to rethink how we strengthen workforce capabilities,” Goncalves said. “At University of Phoenix, we believe the future of work depends on equipping people with the skills to collaborate with AI, not compete against it. This session is about helping leaders turn insight into action and creating ecosystems that drive innovation.”

The session will also highlight real-world examples of how organizations are already using generative AI to scale leadership development and improve team dynamics.

The annual Workforce Summit brings together employers and education leaders from across Arizona to discuss workforce trends affecting business and learn about tangible solutions and resources in workforce development. Attendees will benefit from insights offered by industry and education experts, participate in interactive breakout sessions, learn best practices for talent attraction and retention, and network with community leaders.
