In addition, hundreds of educators will receive gift cards and back-to-school celebration grants and supplies.

This initiative honors educators’ impact on students and communities while helping ease the personal financial burden they face during the back-to-school season.

In a recent Horace Mann survey, more than 86 percent of educators reported that they fund classroom needs out of pocket, with 74 percent reporting that they spend over $250 of their own money on classroom supplies.

“Before the first day of school arrives, educators are already laying the groundwork for student success, often using their own resources and funds to bring classrooms to life,” said Steve Chauby, Chief Marketing and Distribution Officer at Horace Mann. “We are thrilled to be able to offer a classroom makeover with furniture and materials from Lakeshore Learning. This partnership is driven by a shared belief in the power of education and a commitment to providing students with the tools they need to imagine, explore and achieve.”

Key highlights of the nationwide sweepstakes, which runs August 4–September 5, include:

  • $25,000 classroom makeover for one school
  • $250 gift cards for 50 individual educators
  • 20 school celebration grants of $1,500 each

“Lakeshore Learning and Horace Mann are committed to creating dynamic learning environments where educators and students will thrive for years to come,” said Charles Best, CEO at Lakeshore Learning. “We’re honored to be a part of this incredible opportunity, one that will support thousands of children across the country.”
