San Francisco Bay University Advances Global Mission

Partners with More than 20 International Universities;

Ranks 4th Among U.S. Institutions Serving International Students

San Francisco Bay University (SFBU) announced it has signed over 20 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with partner universities across Southeast Asia, laying the groundwork for a globally connected future in higher education. Provost and Vice President for Academic & Student Affairs Brad Fuster and Assistant Provost for International Programs Jen Alessi traveled to Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand with a goal of eliminating barriers to education and creating new opportunities for international students to earn American degrees while remaining in their home countries.

In alignment with the guidelines of the Indonesian higher education authorities, SFBU will begin offering courses that allow students to earn credit toward an American degree while earning their degrees in their home institution. “By establishing partnerships with more than 20 like-minded universities in Southeast Asia, San Francisco Bay University is reaffirming our commitment to providing diverse learners with inclusive, innovative, and inspirational education,” says Dr. Fuster. “In October, the first cohort will begin classes in computer science, with a goal of expanding into business administration and other disciplines in the near future, giving our students every opportunity to achieve lifelong personal and career success.”

In partnership with QASPIR, an international organization focused on higher education and transformative learning, SFBU will bring Silicon Valley-based education to a global audience that can graduate with degrees from both their home university and SFBU. Students will be able to complete coursework virtually in just one year, with an opportunity to attend summer sessions in the U.S. to enrich their learning experience.

Recognizing SFBU’s ongoing commitment to serving international students who are studying in the United States, the 2025 FrogHire Career Outcome University Ranking has ranked San Francisco Bay University fourth out of 339 U.S. institutions that serve international students. An objective, data-driven benchmark, the ranking provides international students with a clear and actionable guide to their educational investment, with SFBU offering “an unmatched pathway from student visa to permanent residency.”
