Greenix Pest Control Supports Lyme Disease Awareness Month with Expanded Efforts Across Pennsylvania

Harrisburg, PA – Greenix Pest Control is once again taking action this May in support of Lyme Disease Awareness Month, reaffirming its commitment to protecting families from the growing threat of tick-borne illnesses. For the fifth year in a row, the company is donating a portion of all Tick, Flea, and Mosquito (TFM) service sales made during the month to the Lyme Disease Awareness Foundation. After contributing $5,000 in 2024, Greenix Pest Control is aiming to double that donation in 2025.

Lyme disease, transmitted by the bite of infected blacklegged ticks, remains the most commonly reported tick-borne illness in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an estimated 476,000 Americans are diagnosed and treated for Lyme disease each year. In Pennsylvania, where the disease is especially widespread, awareness and prevention are critical. From 2011 to 2019, reported cases of tick-borne diseases increased by 25%, reflecting a growing public health concern across the state and nation.

Greenix Pest Control in Pennsylvania serves communities throughout Pennsylvania with offices in Allentown, Downingtown, Erie, Harleysville, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Wexford, Pittsburgh, Reading, and York. These areas include suburban and wooded landscapes where ticks are most active and residents are at greater risk of exposure. Greenix Pest Control’s Tick, Flea, and Mosquito service helps reduce this risk by treating high-traffic outdoor areas where ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes thrive.

Children and pets are particularly vulnerable to tick bites due to their frequent outdoor activity. As tick habitats continue to expand, Greenix Pest Control emphasizes prevention as a key part of protecting households. Their targeted pest control services are designed to create a safer environment by reducing populations of disease-carrying pests around the home.

In addition to Lyme disease, other tick-borne illnesses such as Babesiosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and Ehrlichiosis are becoming more common. Greenix Pest Control is using this year’s awareness campaign not only to support the Lyme Disease Awareness Foundation financially but also to share accurate information that helps families recognize risks and take action.

A portion of each Tick, Flea, and Mosquito service sold during May will be donated to lymedisease.org, supporting education, research, and resources for individuals affected by Lyme disease and other related illnesses. Greenix Pest Control’s continued participation in Lyme Disease Awareness Month reflects its broader mission to protect public health through effective pest control and community engagement.
