Matt Carpenter of AW Broadband Elected to FISPA Board of Directors

Amarillo, TX – Matt Carpenter, CEO of AW Broadband, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Fiber Internet Service Providers of America (FISPA). As one of the newly named Service Provider Directors, Carpenter will help guide FISPA’s national efforts to support independent broadband providers and promote the growth of fiber internet infrastructure across the country.

FISPA is a nonprofit organization that brings together fiber internet service providers and vendor partners to foster collaboration, education, and advocacy within the broadband industry. Carpenter’s election reflects his ongoing leadership within the sector and the recognition of AW Broadband’s efforts to expand high-speed internet access throughout the Texas Panhandle.

“I’m honored to join the FISPA Board of Directors and to represent the service providers who are working every day to bring reliable high-speed internet to local communities,” said Carpenter. “At AW Broadband, we believe that being ‘Truly Local’ means going beyond delivering internet; it means shaping the future of connectivity for the communities we serve. I’m excited to bring that mindset to FISPA and work with peers across the country to build a stronger, more connected future.”

With a decade of experience in operations and network development, Carpenter has played a central role in AW Broadband’s continued growth and service expansion. His background in rural broadband delivery and infrastructure strategy gives him valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities faced by providers in underserved markets.

As a board member, Carpenter will contribute to strategic planning efforts, engage in policy discussions, and help shape the direction of initiatives aimed at advancing fiber network reliability, scalability, and accessibility. He joins fellow newly elected Service Provider Director Jimmy Lewis of Cajun Broadband, and Vendor Representative Rhonda Huser of DirectLine Communications.

Carpenter’s appointment underscores the importance of independent and regional providers in building the nation’s broadband future. His experience and advocacy are expected to strengthen FISPA’s mission and bring forward solutions grounded in local expertise and customer-centered service models.
