Package Central for InDesign Adds Automatic Hot Folder Watching on Launch

By: Get News
Zevrix Solutions announces Package Central 1.14, a feature update to company's document collection automation tool for Adobe InDesign. The app enables centralized file collection from InDesign files using hot folders, eliminating the need for manual packaging at individual Mac stations. Ideal for prepress teams, print shops, and design studios, Package Central can serve unlimited users on a network. The new version adds an option to start watching hot folders automatically on launch.

Toronto, ON, Canada - February 23, 2026 - Zevrix Solutions today announces Package Central 1.14, a feature update to company's file collection automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Package Central is developed for businesses that use InDesign extensively and require consistent, automated packaging of InDesign documents. Instead of having designers or prepress operators manually collect fonts, linked images, and PDF files using InDesign's native "Package" feature.

The new version introduces an option to automatically start monitoring hot folders upon app launch, configurable in the settings. This enhancement is ideal for users who auto-start Package Central on system reboots, enabling processing of InDesign files without human intervention.

Running on a dedicated Mac system, Package Central continuously monitors designated folders for incoming files. Once it detects a new InDesign document in a hot folder, the app instantly initiates the packaging process based on the preset options—completely unattended. This means designers and prepress operators can focus on their work, while packaging happens in the background.

Key features of Package Central include:

-Automated packaging of InDesign files from hot folders.

-Customizable settings applied to individual hot folders.

-Automatic email notifications of process stages and errors.

-Variable folder naming based on date, time, file contents, and other data.

-Serve unlimited users on a network.

-On-the-fly generation of PDF and IDML files.

-Detailed processing history for enhanced monitoring and control.

Pricing and Availability:

Package Central can be purchased for US$149.95 from Zevrix website as well as from authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. The update is free for registered users. Package Central requires macOS 10.9-26 and Adobe InDesign CS6-2026.
