GeekyAnts Delivers Fintech Platform Handling 400M+ Global Payments with 350k+ Downloads

GeekyAnts has announced the successful launch of its project for a North American payment processing company. The Fintech App platform, developed by GeekyAnts, has expanded the client’s global footprint to serve over 120,000 active users across four continents and process more than 400 million payments annually.

The fintech application has recorded 350,000+ downloads across iOS and Android platforms, with significant adoption in Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia. The system handles approximately 800 transactions every three days across all regions.

Technical Architecture

GeekyAnts developed both a web app and mobile applications using a microservice architecture built on Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS ECS. The platform enables users to send and receive money across borders with real-time currency exchange calculations and transaction tracking.

The development team implemented several technical solutions to address scalability challenges:

  • Migrated from a multi-repository to a monorepo structure using npm workspaces, reducing inter-service API calls.
  • AWS ECS auto-scaling with Redis caching to handle increased user loads while maintaining 58% CPU utilization
  • App Center pipelines enabling deployment of two mobile applications from a single codebase
  • Automated end-to-end testing to reduce quality assurance time across four regional deployments

Administrative Control and Market Expansion

The platform features an admin panel designed to reduce technical team dependency for market expansion. Administrators can toggle features, update content through a lightweight content management system, and monitor transaction data through an integrated dashboard.

This architecture allows the payment processor to enter new destination countries and modify service offerings without requiring engineering resources for each change.

Security and Performance Measures

The infrastructure was designed with enterprise-grade protection to ensure both user trust and platform reliability. Backend services underwent refactoring that stabilized CPU utilization and improved API response times through Redis caching of database queries. The team integrated monitoring tools, including Mixpanel, Uptime Robot, and AWS CloudWatch for production incident tracking.

Regional Distribution

Current active user distribution shows concentrated adoption in North America and Europe:

  • Canada: 44,396 users
  • United Kingdom: 39,814 users
  • Europe: 26,851 users
  • Australia: 8,961 users

Transaction volumes vary by region, with the UK recording the highest deposit activity at 611 transactions per three-day period, while Australia shows higher withdrawal activity relative to its user base.

Development Approach

The project followed Agile methodology with sprint-based execution. GeekyAnts prepared detailed Technical Requirement Documents before initiating design or development phases, with security considerations prioritized throughout the development cycle.

The front-end architecture uses Redux Persist for caching across web and mobile applications. Testing protocols include unit testing with Jest, load testing through Grafana K6, and security audits using OWASP tools. Mobile automation leverages Appium, while web testing employs Playwright.

Market Context

The global digital payments market continues to grow as consumers seek alternatives to traditional banking infrastructure for cross-border transactions. Payment processors face ongoing challenges in balancing regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions while maintaining user experience and transaction speed.

The platform's architecture reflects industry trends toward cloud-native infrastructure and microservices, enabling faster feature deployment and regional customization without rebuilding core systems.
