The mission of this prestigious scholarship has always been to encourage and reward the practice of safe driving. Thus, this initiative seeks to reward those driven individuals who value safety on the road and demonstrate a financial need while in college.
Introduced in 2021, the scholarship rewards young student drivers who have gone on to do amazing things. The award’s first recipient went on to graduate from Drexel University with a degree in hospitality management. The recipient reached out to Gelb & Gelb in 2024 to say thank you three years later. She said the award allowed her to participate in an externship away from school, an opportunity she may not have been able to afford otherwise. In her letter to the law firm, she wrote, “By awarding me with your scholarship, you gave me the freedom to focus more on learning and less on funding my education.”
This year, Gelb & Gelb received an overwhelming response, with hundreds of young drivers applying for the “Behind the Wheel” scholarship. While selecting a winner is never easy, the experienced attorneys at Gelb & Gelb say they feel confident in this year’s selection. “This year’s recipient clearly demonstrates a strong commitment to both her academic pursuits and safe driving,” noted attorney Brian Gelb. “We believe that educating young drivers is a powerful way to reduce accidents, prevent traumatic injuries, and save lives.”
