Digital Marketing Brains Discuss Three KPI Metrics Worth Tracking

By: Magic PR

[London, UK] [June 2022]— There are so many digital marketing KPIs out there, but which metrics are actually worth tracking? Here, digital marketing experts at The Brains outline the three key metrics that will genuinely give your business the visibility it needs. Failing to incorporate these metrics and goals into your marketing strategy will severely limit your reach and success.

Customer acquisition cost
This KPI shows you the amount of money you spend to gain new customers. It does this by measuring your total marketing investments by the number of new customers gained. Essentially, it’s the return on investments vs new leads generated.

Click-through rate
Click-through rate (CTR) is the number of visitors on your web page that follow a link to another site of your choice; it determines how engaging your content is. Depending on the amount of users taking action by clicking your links, you’ll have a clearer view of what you should or should not be implementing in your SEO strategies.

Conversion rate
The conversion rate is basically the result of how many leads were converted. It is calculated by dividing the number of people who performed the action you presented to them vs the total number of users who took the first action and did not complete it. This can give you an insight into how well your content is doing, too.

Samantha Lyon, Senior Account Manager for Digital PR at The Brains, says:

“There are a tremendous amount of digital marketing metrics we can explore and examine, and while they are all interesting in their own way, it’s important not to get bogged down with irrelevant data and vanity metrics. Domain authority means nothing if you’re not making sales. Incredibly high website traffic is meaningless if you’re not converting anybody. Beautifully written meta is less than helpful if it’s not compelling people to click through to your website. A million spammy links won’t help you get to page one. Knowing what metrics to track is key to business success, and it allows you to streamline and focus your digital strategy. It all begins with your overarching goals and business objectives – before you plummet down the SEO rabbit hole, take the time to decide what success looks like to you. The right marketing team will help you from there.”
