The Hot Years Magazine Releases Special Issue Focused on Hot Flashes

Hot flashes remain a leading cause of sleep disruption and reduced quality of life during menopause. The Hot Years® Issue 62 examines why they occur, reviews hormonal and non-hormonal treatments including Lynkuet®, and is available free through December 31 to expand access to menopause education.

-- Hot flashes remain one of the most widespread and disruptive symptoms associated with menopause, affecting sleep, workplace performance, and overall quality of life for millions of women worldwide. Newly released Issue 62 of The Hot Years® takes an in-depth look at why hot flashes occur and what women can do to manage them effectively.

The special issue brings together current research, clinical insights, and practical guidance on both hormonal and non-hormonal treatment options. Among its central areas of focus is information on the newly approved drug Lynkuet® from Bayer Pharmaceutical.

“We begin the issue with one of the most exciting developments in menopause care: Lynkuet®, the first and only dual NK1/NK3 receptor antagonist approved for hot flashes,” said Mache Seibel, M.D., founding editor of The Hot Years. “This groundbreaking non-estrogen medication works directly in the brain to stop hot flashes where they start. Our feature article walks you through how it works, who it helps, and why it represents such an important step forward for women seeking effective, hormone-free relief.”

Beyond pharmaceutical advances, the issue explores common triggers for hot flashes, workplace challenges, and emerging research on non-drug approaches such as self-hypnosis. Additional features include a practical hot flash guide, an examination of frequently searched menopause questions compared with those asked in clinical settings, and an update on the FDA’s removal of the Black Box warning from estrogen therapies.

The issue also includes a curated “Hot Flash Toolbox” highlighting cooling clothing, bedding, wearable technologies, and lifestyle tools that can be used to lessen the impact and severity of hot flashes.

In an effort to broaden access to evidence-based menopause education, the publishers have made this special hot-flashes issue available at no costthrough December 31, with the stated goal of placing reliable information into the hands of as many women as possible.
