Born in New Delhi in 1964 and now based in Phoenix, Arizona, Ritu Raj is a polymath whose life journey spans technology, mathematics, entrepreneurship, and fine art. After decades of innovation in cloud computing and ventures such as Wag Hotels, Raj has returned to his earliest calling — painting — with a vision shaped by science, business leadership, and artistic lineage.
Raised in a family immersed in creativity and critical thought, Raj’s father, K.B. Goel, was a renowned art critic and central voice of India’s Progressive Art Movement. His extended family included legendary figures such as photographer Raghu Rai and artists M.F. Husain and F.N. Souza, whose influence continues to resonate in his practice.
Raj views abstraction as an essential means of exploring the human condition beyond representation. His work merges scientific precision with emotional expression, drawing from geometry, texture, and experimental techniques.
