Big Easy Windows Becomes Authorized Soft-Lite Window Installer for Residential Properties

March 06, 2026 - PRESSADVANTAGE -

Big Easy Windows, a window installation and replacement contractor serving the greater New Orleans area, announced that it has been added to that authorized network and is now offering Soft-Lite window installation and replacement as a dedicated service category for residential properties throughout southeastern Louisiana. Soft-Lite Windows and Doors, a vinyl window manufacturer that has operated since 1953 and received ten ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year awards, distributes its products exclusively through authorized dealers and installation companies rather than retail outlets.

The new service encompasses both full window replacement and new installation of Soft-Lite vinyl windows across the manufacturer’s current product lines. Soft-Lite produces windows in three series, each engineered with proprietary components including foam-insulated frames, warm-edge glass sealing systems, and thermal reinforcement designed to reduce heat and cold transfer. Window styles available through Big Easy Windows include double hung, casement, awning, sliding, bay and bow, picture, and specialty geometric shapes. All units are custom manufactured to the dimensions of each opening, and the company confirmed that color matching, interior wood grain finishes, and reflective exterior laminate options are available through the Soft-Lite catalog.

Window performance is a significant factor in residential energy costs throughout the Gulf Coast, where cooling systems operate for extended periods during the region’s prolonged warm season and where wind-driven rain from tropical weather events places sustained stress on exterior building components. Vinyl windows with foam insulation and multi-layer low-emissivity glass coatings are designed to reduce thermal transfer between the interior and exterior of a home, which can lower the load on heating and cooling systems over the life of the installation. Soft-Lite’s sealed glass units are constructed with a metal-free warm-edge spacer system intended to minimize condensation and heat loss at the perimeter of the glass, a point where energy transfer is typically most concentrated.

Big Easy Windows stated that each Soft-Lite project begins with an on-site measurement and consultation during which a representative evaluates the existing window openings, discusses the property owner’s performance and design requirements, and identifies the appropriate product series and configuration. The company’s installation crews then handle removal of the existing windows and installation of the replacement units, including flashing, sealing, and trim work. Window repair services for existing installations are also available through the company for properties that do not require full replacement.

Soft-Lite backs its vinyl windows with a lifetime limited warranty that covers manufacturing defects in the vinyl components, sealed glass units, and hardware for the original property owner. The warranty is transferable under terms that vary by product series. Big Easy Windows noted that a significant portion of residential properties in the New Orleans metropolitan area were constructed with single-pane or early double-pane windows that predate current energy performance standards, and that replacing those units with current-generation insulated vinyl windows can produce a measurable reduction in annual cooling and heating costs. The company also noted that impact-resistant window configurations are available through the Soft-Lite product line for property owners in areas subject to windborne debris requirements under Louisiana building codes.

The Soft-Lite installation and replacement service is available to residential property owners throughout the company’s service area, which includes New Orleans, Mandeville, Covington, Madisonville, Baton Rouge, Gretna, LaPlace, Slidell, Hammond, Kenner, and St. Rose. Estimates for the service are provided at no cost.

“Soft-Lite has manufactured vinyl windows exclusively for over seventy years, and their product lines have consistently met or exceeded ENERGY STAR performance thresholds,” said a representative of Big Easy Windows. “Adding their products to our installation services gives property owners in the New Orleans area direct local access to those product lines with professional, on-site installation rather than having to coordinate with out-of-area dealers.”

Property owners may request a Soft-Lite window consultation or estimate by contacting Big Easy Windows at 504-384-8165 or through the company’s website at www.bigeasywindows.com.
