Dr. Philippe Smith, a distinguished family physician and accomplished leader in his local medical community, has been elected Chief of the Regional Department of General Medicine for the South West Montérégie region.
Effective November 1, 2024, Dr. Smith has taken on the responsibility of overseeing first- and second-line general practice providers across the South West Montérégie area. In his new role, he will collaborate closely with local health administrators to ensure the delivery of high-quality, accessible healthcare services. His focus will include strategic planning, resource management, and fostering innovative approaches to patient care that meet the needs of the region’s diverse population.
Dr. Smith brings over a decade of experience as a family physician, with a strong track record in clinical practice, medical education, and leadership. He currently practices at Clinique Le Trait D’Union and Anna Laberge Hospital and has been an active participant in the Fédération des médecins omnipraticiens (FMOQ), where he has contributed to professional development and the advancement of medical education.
