Utah Jazzman Walker Kessler Gives Back to Intermountain Primary Children’s, Asks Fans to Join Team

Walker Kessler invites the community and Utah Jazz fans to join his team in support of Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital

(PRUnderground) January 25th, 2025

Utah Jazzman Walker Kessler is looking for fans to join his team to raise money for patients at Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital. Kessler’s fundraising team is his way of giving back to Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, which helped save his life when he was 18 months old.

His creative fundraising campaign is open to everyone through January 31. In February, the top fundraising teams will have a chance to meet Kessler in person.

“Every dollar, every cent, everything counts. No amount is too small, and no act of service is too small either,” Kessler said in an interview alongside his mom, Andrea. “It puts a smile on a kid’s face. You can’t put a price on that.”

As a toddler, Kessler was in Utah on a family ski trip when he suddenly became gravely ill. He was rushed to Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital.

“For six nights I slept on a twin bed, curled up at the bottom, and you and I watched the Grinch 450 times,” Kessler’s mom Andrea said, as her son chuckled in the background. “I remember you didn’t walk for weeks, because that’s how sick you were,” she said, adding that she “was very thankful” for the care her son received at the hospital.

Kessler, a Georgia native, grew to become 7-foot-tall, college All-American, named to the 2023 NBA All-Rookie First Team while playing for the Jazz.

“Walker Kessler, from his first visit with patients as a Utah Jazz rookie, has been kind, gracious, and eager to give back to help children receiving life-changing care at Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital,” said Janet DeWolfe, executive director of the Intermountain Foundation at Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital. “We’re thankful for his effort to bring the community together and support life-saving care for children in need.”

Here’s how to join Kessler’s fundraising team for Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital:

“I’m very thankful to be doing this,” to help kids, Kessler added. “I know we joke around it’s full circle, but it really seems that way.”
