Power to Hydrogen Awarded €900k European Regional Development Fund Grant to Advance Green Hydrogen Technology

(PRUnderground) October 20th, 2025

Power to Hydrogen (P2H2), a leader in next-generation hydrogen production systems, announced today that it has been awarded a €900k grant from the European Union Regional Development Fund administered by VLAIO, Flanders Innovation and Entrepreneurship funding organization. The grant will accelerate deployment of P2H2’s Hybrid AEM electrolysers at its commercial project in Antwerp, Belgium.

P2H2’s technology is designed for seamless integration with renewable energy, supporting grid modernization efforts and delivering reliable, clean hydrogen for critical applications like industry and mobility.  The funding will allow the company to deploy the largest AEM electrolysis stacks ever used in a commercial project, a 10x stack scale up compared to incumbent AEM technologies.

“Our team is honored to receive this support from the European Union’s Regional Development Fund,” said Paul Matter, CEO of Power to Hydrogen. “Europe has taken a leadership role in hydrogen and renewable energy, and this grant provides a tremendous opportunity to demonstrate how our Hybrid AEM electrolysers can pair with renewables, strengthen the grid, and provide clean, low-cost hydrogen for sectors critical to Europe’s industrial competitiveness. We look forward to working with European partners to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy.”

Power to Hydrogen’s Hybrid AEM electrolyzers combine the cost advantages of alkaline technology with the performance of PEM, creating a new category of industrial-scale electrolysers that deliver high efficiency and durability at a lower cost.
