The Sports Facilities Companies to Open or Break Ground on 12 Facilities Nationwide in 2025

New Projects to Drive Economic Impact and Community Growth Through Youth and Amateur Sports

(PRUnderground) February 4th, 2025

The Sports Facilities Companies (SFC), the nation’s leading resource for developing and managing sports, recreation, and entertainment facilities, announced the opening or groundbreaking of 12 new facilities across the United States in 2025. The new projects will expand youth and amateur sports opportunities while strengthening local economies and fostering community growth.

“SFC is thrilled to announce these new facilities in mission to improve the health and economic vitality of these communities and their surrounding regions,” said Jason Clement, CEO and Founder of SFC. “The opening or groundbreaking of each unique venue represents an extraordinary partnership with each community in creating spaces that foster economic growth, quality of life, and inspire families in a fun environment. These complexes represent millions of lives being impacted positively across the country, and each of these projects represents a unique opportunity to transform local economies and provide lasting benefits for generations.”

2025 Facility Openings:

  • WYO Sports Ranch (Casper, Wyo.): This premier sports complex, opened in January, boasts cutting-edge technology to engage youth and amateur athletes throughout the rocky mountain and big sky region.
  • Kentucky Sports Factory (Madisonville, Ky.): Soft opening in January, with a grand opening in March, this flexible and multipurpose sports complex will serve as a hub for multi-use activities, including local programs, tournaments, and community activities.
  • Woodman’s Center (Janesville, Wis.): This venue, including ice arenas, community spaces, and more, is scheduled to open in fall 2025.
  • Burlington Pickleball (Burlington, N.C.): A venue catering to the booming pickleball community, with courts and amenities for recreational play and high-level competition.
  • Davis Center, Central Park (New York, N.Y.): This recreation center offers new and enhanced outdoor activities and unhindered access at the north end of Central Park’s Harlem Meer. The ice skating rink, swimming pool, green roof, and park amenities will reopen in 2025 after a comprehensive renovation.
  • Crossroads Sports Complex, Phase 1 (New Lenox, Ill.): The first phase of this complex, opening in 2025, will feature the largest collection of multipurpose synthetic turf outdoor fields for tournaments and local events in the Midwest.
  • Cyclone Ballparks Expansion (Pecos, Texas): The success of phase I has created demand for additional fields, enhancing the popular facility with additional features.
  • SCHEELS Sports Park at Legacy Pointe (Springfield, Ill.): Featuring a 170,000-square-foot indoor dome and championship field with stadium-style seating, this complex will host tournaments for 60 to 100 teams on weekends year-round.
  • Paducah Sports Park (Paducah, Ky.): This facility will transform the historic Bluegrass Downs and Stuart Nelson Park with five high school baseball diamonds, 20 youth/fastpitch diamonds, and 10 multi-sport fields.

2025 Groundbreakings:

  • Destination Kings Park (Kings Park, N.Y.): This exciting project will combine youth sports, recreation, and retail opportunities to serve Long Island and the surrounding region.
  • City of Muscle Shoals Complex (Muscle Shoals, Ala.): A $65 million sports and entertainment complex designed to boost tourism and local business while serving local families.
  • Boyd County Sports Complex (Boyd County, Ky.): This facility will include a sports complex and convention center, which will attract regional events and drive economic impact as part of a larger mixed-use entertainment district.

SFC’s managed facilities portfolio generates more than $500 million in annual economic impact from over 35 million guest visits. The new projects in 2025 are expected to create hundreds of jobs during construction and operations, further driving significant revenue growth for local economies.
