Love, Language, and the Long Road: A New Podcast Rewrites the Rules of Connection

New podcast “On the Road to Your Heart” with Sheryl Aronson, LMFT & Dr. Michael Berlin explores love, self-awareness, and real tools for lasting connection.

(PRUnderground) July 28th, 2025

What began as a heartfelt single about healing and self-discovery has become something far greater. On the Road to Your Heart—the new podcast created by award-winning entertainment journalist and licensed marriage and family therapist Sheryl Aronson, LMFT—is a bold new chapter in the ongoing journey to redefine how we understand love and connection.

Aronson, a multi-award-winning journalist, memoirist, and licensed marriage and family therapist, has spent more than two decades at the intersection of media and mental health—spotlighting emotional transformation, creative expression, and healing. She is best known for her deeply personal interviews with luminaries in film, music, and culture, featured in AGENDA, Schmooze Jazz, Chic Compass, Virtuoso Bass, and more. A sought-after public speaker and author of multiple memoirs, Aronson brings real-world therapeutic insight to her storytelling, specializing in couples therapy, trauma recovery, and relational intelligence. Her unique voice—blending clinical intuition with empathy and narrative clarity—has made her a trusted advocate for emotional wellness, both on and off the page.

She is joined by co-host and co-producer Dr. Michael Berlin, a psychologist, tenured professor, and veteran Hollywood screenwriter whose career spans over four decades. A longtime member of the Writers Guild of America, Berlin has written and produced award-winning television series, films, and documentaries—most notably Ars Medicina: The Art of Healing and Bass Clef Bliss: Terrence’s Path. He has taught screenwriting and psychology at the college level and served as Academic Dean at the College for Developmental Studies. His clinical work has spanned special education, substance abuse, in-patient psychiatric care, and correctional mental health, including time at Rikers Island. His experience supporting individuals on the autism spectrum has informed his lifelong mission to build inclusive, healing-centered spaces for personal growth and creative exploration.
Together, Aronson and Berlin bring a rare fusion of clinical insight, artistic storytelling, and emotional depth to the podcast format—creating a space where complex ideas are made personal, and healing feels accessible.

The show’s first episode, titled “What Is Your Book of Love, premieres on YouTube and other streaming platforms, launching the series with a deeply personal and emotionally intelligent conversation about the ways our childhood, culture, and inner narratives shape how we experience and express love.

“More than a podcast, ‘On the Road to Your Heart’ is a cinematic conversation—an auditory journey that unearths the emotional truths behind creativity, fame, and human connection.”

This collaboration stems from more than four decades of friendship between Aronson and Berlin, both of whom have worked across media, education, and mental health. Their bond, sharpened by time and mutual respect, translates into a rare chemistry that makes the podcast feel intimate yet expansive—welcoming listeners into a space where vulnerability and humor coexist with real psychological tools.

“Most people don’t realize that we’re often speaking different languages when we try to love one another,” says Aronson. “Our wounds, our backgrounds, even our silence—these things all have a grammar. This show helps people find clarity in that complexity.”

Berlin adds, “Working alongside Sheryl Aronson is both a privilege and a pleasure. Her insights, thoughtfulness, knowledge of the subject, and her sense of humor are priceless. Being an advocate for ‘the couple’ is crucial in gaining their trust and their confidence.”

In the debut episode, Berlin offers a poignant reflection:

“If you don’t feel internal love—including strength and kindness—you cannot put that out in the world. And if it’s not present, you can’t be in a successful relationship. That to me is the beginning of the climb.”

The podcast is not just a destination—it’s a bridge. With plans to evolve into a live stage production featuring original music, spoken word, and theater, On the Road to Your Heart is already expanding beyond the medium. Pianist and music director Gail Jhonson, known for her work with genre-defining artists, is co-producing the music for the podcast and future theatrical adaptation.

In addition to hosting and producing, Aronson wrote the lyrics to the theme song that inspired it all. The podcast’s production team includes Sherman Alford (recording engineer) and Kaylene Peoples (consultant). The mission behind the series is clear: to create a safe, engaging, and meaningful space for real conversations that inspire growth and reconnection.

At a time when podcasts about psychology and relationships flood the digital landscape, On the Road to Your Heart offers something rare: artful, informed conversation with real-world impact—and the promise of an experience that doesn’t end with the credits.
