Heavy Transportation Equipment Stocks Q4 Results: Benchmarking Oshkosh (NYSE:OSK)

Amidst this news, share prices of the companies have had a rough stretch. On average, they are down 10.3% since the latest earnings results.

Oshkosh (NYSE: OSK)

Oshkosh (NYSE: OSK) manufactures specialty vehicles for the defense, fire, emergency, and commercial industry, operating various brand subsidiaries within each industry.

Oshkosh reported revenues of $2.62 billion, up 6.3% year on year. This print exceeded analysts’ expectations by 8.6%. Overall, it was an exceptional quarter for the company with a solid beat of analysts’ EBITDA estimates.

“We delivered another strong quarter as our team grew fourth quarter adjusted earnings per share to $2.58, leading to full year 2024 adjusted earnings per share of $11.74, an increase of 17.6 percent over the prior year,” said John Pfeifer, president and chief executive officer of Oshkosh Corporation.

Oshkosh pulled off the biggest analyst estimates beat of the whole group. The results were likely priced in, however, and the stock is flat since reporting. It currently trades at $95.03.

Best Q4: REV Group (NYSE: REVG)

Offering the first full-electric North American fire truck, REV (NYSE: REVG) manufactures and sells specialty vehicles.

REV Group reported revenues of $525.1 million, down 10.4% year on year, outperforming analysts’ expectations by 6.5%. The business had an incredible quarter with an impressive beat of analysts’ EPS estimates and a solid beat of analysts’ EBITDA estimates.

The market seems happy with the results as the stock is up 14% since reporting. It currently trades at $31.09.

Weakest Q4: Wabtec (NYSE: WAB)

Also known as Wabtec, Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies (NYSE: WAB) provides equipment, systems, and related software for the railway industry.

Wabtec reported revenues of $2.58 billion, up 2.3% year on year, falling short of analysts’ expectations by 0.6%. It was a softer quarter as it posted a significant miss of analysts’ EBITDA estimates.

As expected, the stock is down 12.2% since the results and currently trades at $182.70.

Cummins (NYSE: CMI)

With more than half of the heavy-duty truck market using its engines at one point, Cummins (NYSE: CMI) offers engines and power systems.

Cummins reported revenues of $8.45 billion, down 1.1% year on year. This print surpassed analysts’ expectations by 4.7%. Overall, it was a stunning quarter as it also recorded a solid beat of analysts’ adjusted operating income estimates and an impressive beat of analysts’ Engine revenue estimates.

The stock is down 7.7% since reporting and currently trades at $321.41.

Commercial Vehicle Group (NASDAQ: CVGI)

Formed from a partnership between two distinct companies, CVG (NASDAQ: CVGI) offers various components used in vehicles and systems used in warehouses.

Commercial Vehicle Group reported revenues of $163.3 million, down 26.8% year on year. This number beat analysts’ expectations by 3.1%. Taking a step back, it was a satisfactory quarter as it also produced an impressive beat of analysts’ EBITDA estimates but a significant miss of analysts’ EPS estimates.

The stock is down 16.5% since reporting and currently trades at $1.57.
