Cummins, Love's and Trillium To Collaborate To Help Customers Use Alternative Technologies To Reduce Emissions

By: 3BL Media

SOURCE: Cummins Inc.

DESCRIPTION:

The Love’s Family of Companies, including Trillium, a leading provider of renewable fuels and alternative fueling, and global power leader Cummins Inc. recently agreed to work together to help customers use alternative fuel and zero emission technologies.

Trillium and Cummins will collaborate to assist customers who want to integrate these technologies into their fleets by providing the information, technology and infrastructure needed to save them time and money. Trillium will lead the effort at Love’s to support the initiative. Love’s Travel Stops is the nation’s leading travel stop network with more than 580 locations in 41 states.

“Together Trillium and Love’s provide customers a variety of fueling options across the country,” said Ryan Erickson, Vice President of Trillium. “This new relationship will make it easier for customers wanting to make the switch to zero- and near-zero emission vehicles. With Trillium’s clean fueling options and Cummins’ powertrain expertise, we’re convinced together we can help our customers meet their ESG (environmental, social and governance) goals.”

“Our customers have ambitious sustainability goals, and some have aggressive timelines to reach them,” added Amy Boerger, Vice President of the North American Engine Business at Cummins. “Bringing others to the table is a key piece of our strategy to remove barriers and enable the adoption of lower carbon power solutions. In Love’s and Trillium, we have found partners who are committed to investing in fueling and charging infrastructure that will give our customers choices, so we can meet them no matter where they are in their sustainability journey.”

Currently, Trillium offers renewable natural gas (RNG), compressed natural gas (CNG), electric vehicle charging (EV) and hydrogen fueling options for light and heavy-duty vehicles at over 200 locations across the country, including Trillium-branded stations and Love’s Travel Stops. Cummins’ broad portfolio of power solutions for commercial vehicles includes diesel, natural gas, and hydrogen internal combustion engine-based powertrains as well as battery electric and fuel cell electric powertrains.

Cummins is committed to taking a leadership role in the effort to address the world’s climate challenges, bringing to market the technologies likely to power a no-carbon future for those customers ready to invest in them now, while reducing the carbon produced by its core products through the use of lower carbon fuels and by other means.

The company was one of 45 inaugural recipients from around the world of the Terra Carta Seal for its leadership in the transition to a more sustainable, no carbon future. The effort, led by Prince Charles, seeks to put nature, people and the planet at the heart of the economy.
