An extensive lineup of Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations is on tap inclusive of Mexican posada celebrations, insuite Christmas trees, traditional treasure hunt for the chocolate coins, extravagant NYE festivities and more. At Velas Vallarta, Santa Claus makes a special arrival on the beaches of Puerto Vallarta via parachute. For bookings through August 31, the resort collection is also now offering 50% savings on kids' and teens' rates and resort credits at select properties.

Velas Vallarta is in the giving spirit with 50% off kids' and teens' rates (ages 4-15), complimentary city tour and cultural tour, and a $300 USD resort credit per stay, per suite. In addition to Santa's arrival via parachute on the big day, the resort has special events throughout the whole month of December. On December 10th, Velas Vallarta symbolizes the beginning of the Christmas celebration with the lighting of its 24 ft Christmas tree. The tree will be decorated with cheerful and colorful handmade tin ornaments handmade in Tonalá. This Mexican technique focuses on ornaments inspired by nature. Then, every Wednesday in December, the resort will host a treasure hunt for chocolate coins. Each coin has a note specifying a gift. The challenge is for each child to find a pair of coins.

Pre-decorated or with ornaments to adorn the tree oneself, insuite trees and gift-wrapped toys for children of all ages can be purchased in advance to be delivered to the suite on Christmas.
