Addiction Recovery Financing, Mental Health & Substance Abuse Care Announced

Advance Care has announced financing options for those suffering from substance abuse.

In light of sobering statistics published by the National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics (NCDAS)—which revealed that 25.4% of illegal drug users have a substance abuse disorder—Advance Care is now offering low-interest financing for those whose insurance doesn't cover substance abuse therapy, or covers only a small portion of the cost.

As a recent article on NPR explained, while the 2008 Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act tried to improve access to mental health care, insurers found ways to avoid paying for treatment—resulting in inpatient substance abuse recovery costing $100,000, or more. This leaves many families tapping into their savings to afford treatment for what is often a life-or-death situation. Advance Care believes that insurers—and decision makers—are not doing enough for America’s more vulnerable population, and hopes to improve access to mental health and substance abuse care with their new financing options.

"Our medical credit card covers a variety of psychiatric treatments—connecting those who would otherwise be unable to afford mental health care with practices and therapists offering the most advanced care," says Advance Care. "Our goal is simply to provide clients and providers with the very best options available for financing."

In line with their mission to offer affordable and accessible financing, Advance Care's medical loans are interest-free for the first six to fourteen months. Those with excellent credit can be approved for $25,000, or more, while those with poor credit can use a co-signer to improve approval chances. The interest rate and general terms will also depend on credit history and current financial situation.

Those wishing to apply for financing can do so online, with applications generally processed in 24 to 48 hours. Once approved, clients can book treatment immediately, including for family members.

Founded in 2008, Advance Care is on a mission to improve access to both essential and non-essential health care, for all Americans.
