Residents of Raleigh's Renaissance Park neighborhood south of downtown were alerted to stay inside as shots rang out through the 6 o'clock hour.

<p>I'm just off Tryon Road where there is a report of shots fired investigation involving Raleigh police and other agencies. We are trying to confirm exactly who was injured in the shooting. There's a possibility that it could be an officer who was indeed shot, but at this point all We know is that this is a shooting investigation in this neighborhood. Now I just want, OK, we're hearing live gunshots right now. An officer is telling us that we have to move because of that, uh, but there are absolutely, sir. Yeah, yeah, here we go, Kurt. Um, so we're being asked to move there are a lot of Shots fired right now. We're hearing a number of bangs right now. Um, from what we can see where this investigation is supposed to be happening, happening, it is around the corner from us. We are about maybe 1/8 of a mile away. Um, more officers are arriving right now. There's one officer that's on scene. He has a long gun, waiting for sounds. Right now I'm behind a vehicle as officers are continuing this, waiting to hear if there's anything else going on at this moment. But what we know right now, this is clearly a very active scene. Move this guy over here. We were right in the thick of what this active scene is going on. Offrs telling us to say exactly where we are right now, but we have heard shots that were fired just within the last 30 seconds to 1 minute. It was at least a dozen shots or so, very loud, very deep booms that we were hearing and the officer with. Police department here immediately rushed us away to get behind a car, get behind a tree, whatever we can do to take cover um as we continue following along with this investigation at the moment we are unaware exactly who was shot. There are reports that there was an officer who was shot here, um, but we are waiting to confirm that at this moment. So But within the last couple of minutes we have heard at least a dozen shots fired. That's what officers are telling us that there was a shooting here around the corner again. We are off Tryon Road in a little bit of a development here. And I believe that this is happening at home around the corner from where we're at right now. here. I Officer this officer right here is going. Where the shots were coming from. Our photographer here could hear over the radio traffic that an officer was down. We have not confirmed that, but we are awaiting.</p>
