WRAL Weather Alert Day: More extreme heat, Level 1 risk on the way for Thursday

<p>I'm mere to Elizabeth Gardner. Today is another WREL weather alert day. We have a heat advisory that goes into effect at 11 o'clock, and the difference will be it'll feel slightly cooler but still in the danger zone. Yesterday our heat and disease were at 110 or hotter, and today it'll feel more like 105 to 109. So it's a subtle difference, but you still need to take extra. Cautions outside. Take a look at our timeline for the heat. It's likely to feel like triple digits by lunchtime and last into the evening, but it may be that we're looking at 6 or 7 hours in the triple digits instead of 12 hours like we saw yesterday, and yesterday it was feeling like 110 to 112, so it feels a little cooler but still not safe to be doing much outside. This afternoon we also have a level 1 risk for severe storms. Yesterday it was level 2, so we'll see fewer storms producing wind damage, but there still could be some damage with storms that developed this afternoon. We have a 30% chance in the afternoon and into the evening on WRLTV this morning we'll be talking more about how things will start to improve as we get into the weekend.</p>
