A cold front is bringing afternoon temperatures in the 70s and nights and mornings in the 50s to central North Carolina.




Fall weather is back: Cooler and quiet conditions Thursday before a weekend warm up

I'm WRIL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardiner. When you step outside, it feels much cooler than it did yesterday. Temperatures are 10 to 15 degrees below where we walked out the door yesterday. So nice cool, comfortable start this morning. Humidity is nice and low. And then we'll see partly cloudy skies this afternoon and temperatures a little below normal in the low 70s. So a pretty day out there. We take a look at our temperatures as we get through the day and hour by hour, really nice at lunchtime. Temperatures will be in the upper 60s, part. cloudy with a high of 72. Checking the tropics, of course, yesterday, Humberto fell apart, and today we're still watching Hurricane Imelda. It's probably going to stay category 1 into the weekend. It moved over Bermuda last night and of course there may have been some damage done there. We'll probably hear more about that as we get through the day today, but it just moves on out into the Atlantic. And there are two more systems that have a minimal chance of developing. We'll show you that on WRELT this morning.
