WELL, THIS HAPPENED AT ELIZABETH CITY STATE UNIVERSITY SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT. THE UNIVERSITY SAYS IT HAPPENED AT THE CENTER OF CAMPUS FOLLOWING AN EVENT CALLED YARD BEST, WHICH IS PART OF THEIR ANNUAL BIKING FEST CELEBRATION. ELIZABETH CITY STATE SAYS THE 24 YEAR-OLD MAN WHO WAS NOT A STUDENT WAS KILLED. 3 OF THE 4 PEOPLE INJURED IN THE SHOOTING WERE STUDENTS. 2 OTHER STUDENTS WERE INJURED DURING THE COMMOTION AFTER THE SHOOTING. THE UNIVERSITY WAS PLACED ON LOCKDOWN AND SHELTER-IN-PLACE WAS ORDERED FOLLOWING THE SHOOTING. THE LOCKDOWN WAS LIFTED EARLIER TODAY WHEN INVESTIGATORS DETERMINED THE CAMPUS WAS SAFE.
