ClasShare cuts through the crowded marketplace of live online classes for K-12 students by offering courses aimed at nurturing their natural creativity while developing their academic and social skills, in order to transform today’s learners into tomorrow’s leaders. The ClasShare team of educators, instructional designers and industry experts have curated and constructed curricula that focus on academic enrichment through the development of workforce-ready skills.
An October 2020 Pew Research study showed that 58 percent of parents of K-12 students are concerned about their kids having access to extracurricular activities during the pandemic. Meanwhile, 60 percent of parents were concerned about their children’s ability to maintain social connections and friendships. ClasShare Founder and CEO Wei Hunter shared those same concerns as a parent, which is why she started ClasShare with a mission of providing high quality, skills-based courses to build skills for a better future.
Individualized Learning and Coaching at an Affordable Price
With a typical class size of only 4-8 students, ClasShare’s experienced educators can provide more individualized attention. Courses utilize project-based learning theories to tap into a student’s natural interests and curiosity while teaching practical skills in a fun and engaging way. For example, students in the “Presentations and Public Speaking” class learn and apply elements of persuasive speaking, practice public speaking, and learn how to create effective and meaningful presentations based on a topic of their interest.
Classes start from $15/session, and most are geared towards children ages 8-15. Registration is now open for courses beginning in January 2021.
Certified Program Tracks
All of ClasShare’s courses have been developed by industry leaders. Students are encouraged to take the courses that pique their interest, but they can also choose to enroll in specific program tracks and receive a certificate upon completion:
Acting and Talent Development: learners complete up to 3 levels of courses that prepare them for on-stage or on-camera acting careers.
Communications: learners hone their creative writing, reading and public speaking skills.
Leadership: learners complete coursework that develops their critical thinking, problem solving, time management, team-building and negotiation skills.
Future tracks that focus on entrepreneurship, social media marketing and finance are currently in development.
A Platform to Showcase Talent
Each course includes real-world applications of the concepts being taught, so ClasShare also provides an online platform to showcase exemplary final projects. As ClasShare continues to grow and develop, top students will have a direct channel to share their hard work, projects, and performances directly with family, friends, talent agents and casting directors, and more.
