IN A FEW HOURS A JURY WILL BE SELECTED HERE AT THE WAKE COUNTY JUSTICE CENTER. WE HAVE THE CHRISTOPHER MCCALLUM WILL BE FACING A JUDGE SOON AFTER HE'S BEEN CHARGED WITH THE MURDER OF HIS MOTHER. OUR CAMERAS WERE ROLLING THE LAST TIME THE CALL APPEARED IN COURT. HE'S ACCUSED OF BEATING HIS MOM AND DAD IN FRONT OF HIS 2 YEAR-OLD SON AND 2023. HIS MOTHER DIED FROM HER INJURIES AFTER THE ATTACK. NOW, MCCULLOUGH COULD FACE THE DEATH PENALTY IF HE'S CONVICTED. WRAL OBTAINED COURT RECORDS FROM 2022, WE FOUND THAT MCCULLOUGH'S FATHER JOHN TOOK A PROTECTIVE ORDER AGAINST HIS SON WRITING THAT MCCULLOUGH HAD PUNCHED ME SEVERAL TIMES, KNOCKING ME TO THE FLOOR AND ALSO THREATENED TO KILL ME.
