Temperatures to close out the weekend will stay below average. Highs for Sunday are expected to be in the low to mid 80s.

<p>Hey there everyone. Meteorologist Grant Skinner here in the Weather Center. We had fake fall on Saturday, a high of 79 degrees in Raleigh, 81 in Fayetteville is trending about 10 degrees below average. These are close to the average highs we see in late September, so a big shift from the scorching heat we've had over the past week. Overnight tonight, it will stay cooler, temperatures dropping to the 60s, some upper 50s far to the north. Roxborough 60, Raleigh at 64 degrees by Sunday morning. Fayetteville at 66, and we'll keep partly cloudy skies. Then more sunshine on Sunday and feeling more pleasant as we have some drier air work its way in. Dew point temperatures dropping into the mid to upper 50s. So, again, feeling a lot more comfortable and highs back to the low to mid 80s, some northern spots in the upper 70s, but similar highs to our Saturday with more sunshine, 83 by 3 o'clock, then upper 70s by 7 p.m. tomorrow evening. And still feeling pleasant for any of the evening plans you have, all the plans throughout the day. Enjoy it, spend some time outdoors. Now, looking long term, by the time we have the second week of August, we'll likely have some above normal temperatures return to the area, so the temperatures in the 80s don't last long, but the next week at least, it will feel pretty comfortable, mid 80s, we'll have some moisture that returns ahead of those rain chances. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, so the humidity returns, but not feeling as overwhelmingly hot. 86 by Tuesday in the mid 80s for the back half of the week, 87 by Saturday, so starting to see that warm up by then with some isolated storms, but for the rest of the weekend, feeling more comfortable, low to mid 80s for the afternoon temperatures on Sunday, then in the mid 80s to start the work week.</p>
