The City of Raleigh confirmed Thursday night that the fireworks show at Dorothea Dix Park was shorter than planned and will not be rescheduled.

ANYONE WAS HURT OR IF THEY WILL HAVE TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AFTER THE FIRE, THE CROWDS OF FOLKS THEY GATHERED AT DIX PARK LAST NIGHT DID NOT GET THE FIREWORKS SHOW THAT THEY IMAGINE THEY WERE IN FOR BECAUSE RAIN DELAYED AND CREATED MASS CONFUSION THERE. WRS. KELSEY COFFEY JOINS US LIVE NOW FROM DIX PARK THIS MORNING. >> KELSEY, THOSE ORGANIZERS SAY THE RAIN ALSO COUPLED WITH SOME TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, MADE THINGS HARD FOR THEM. >> JEFF, THIS MORNING, WE'RE REACHING OUT TO CITY LEADERS TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT. A HUGE CROWD LEFT THIS SECTION OF DIX PARK LAST NIGHT. YOU'RE LOOKING AT VIDEO NOW OF THAT MASS EXODUS. HEAVY RAIN MOVED THROUGH THE AREA JUST BEFORE 9.30. THAT'S WHEN SOME PEOPLE THOUGHT THE PARK WAS BEING EVACUATED AND LEFT CREATING A TRAFFIC JAM >> IT WAS TRYING TO GET TO THEIR CARS AND LEAVE ANYTHING ON MY 3RD UBER RIDE RIGHT NOW THAT I ORDERED A UBER DRIVER IS NO ERRORS BIG. THE LAST GUY HE'S LIKE, I JUST PICKED UP A LOT OF PEOPLE. I WAS LIKE I JUST GAVE YOU $50 LIKE PADDLING AND THEY THEY WEAR. THE CITY LATER RELEASED A STATEMENT SAYING THE SHOW WAS CUT SHORT DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES EARLIER THE CITY CREATED TO SIGN UP LINK FOR TEXT ALERTS ABOUT THE SHOW. NOW WE CHECKED ON THAT AND THEY DID NOT SEND ANY NOTIFICATIONS ABOUT THE WEATHER OR DELAYS. THEY ALSO DID NOT OFFER ANY UPDATES ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
