DUKE ENERGY HAS SAID THAT RIGHT NOW THERE IS NO ESTIMATION FOR WHEN THE POWER COULD BE TURNED BACK ON AS CREWS BATTLE DAMAGE LEFT BEHIND. AND THERE IS NO CELL PHONE SERVICE IN MUCH OF WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA CELL PHONE PROVIDERS SAY IT WILL BE SEVERAL DAYS UNTIL SERVICE CAN BE RESTORED. BUT WITH THIS HISTORIC STORM LEFT BEHIND ALL SAYING IT'S HARD TO SEE SO MANY HISTORIC BUILDINGS IN RUINS. AND IN TIMES OF DESPERATION, SOME PEOPLE HAVE RESORTED TO LOOTING STORES IMPACTED BY THE STORM. BUT THE STOREFRONT IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT, WRAL WAS THERE AS THE MOMENT PLAYED OUT WITHOUT LAW ENFORCEMENT.
