South Carolina high school football player suffers third degree burns after practice punishment 

This is a picture of the 2nd and 3rd degree burns on 17 year old Kate Pointer's hands. His dad says he got those wounds after a weightlifting coach forced Cade and other football players to do bear crawls across the Buford High school football field as punishment that day, if I remember it was between 85 and 90 degrees and if it's 85 or 90 degrees outside, that turf's normally a lot hotter than that. Lance says his son showed the coach's injuries and asked to see a doctor. He said that they weren't going to go see the medical doctor that they were going to go lift weights, they were going to work the pain out of their hands. His dad says, Cade eventually went to a doctor and was diagnosed with 2nd and 3rd degree burns so serious. He was forced to sit out a team scrimmage last weekend for him to go home and come in in that condition. You know, it really upset me. A spokesperson for the district said the employee is on administrative leave while leaders investigate, they would not comment further if we can't trust him around our kids and he really doesn't need to be in, he doesn't need to be in a, I guess, an authority figure at the school.
