Several counties will be under a heat advisory again on Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. We'll have one more day with highs in the upper 90s before we get some relief to close out the week.

Sweltering again: One more day of intense heat before relief arrives, Level 1 risk of severe weather the next two days

<p>I'm meteorologist Chris Michaels in the Wral Severe weather center. Another day. Another heat advisory, this is the third straight day we've had with heat alerts and effect. So definitely be careful out there as we go throughout the rest of the afternoon and evening heat index for most of us peaking between 105 and 110. And whether it feels like 106 or 108, you can barely tell the difference just a lot of heat out there. That's also going to be the case as we head into Wednesday. Not much change in how hot things are going to feel by then, the heat index still peaking between 105 and 110. No word yet on whether or not there will be another heat advisory in effect. There is the chance for a few stronger thunderstorms. Right. Now, the storm prediction center has us under a level one threat. Uh especially as you go near north of the triangle. I could stand to see that be extended a little bit farther to the south and here's part of the reason for that. Now, this is today, you see that storm chances are going to be pretty few and far between. But you notice all that storminess off toward the north today that's in conjunction with a cold front that's gonna come through tomorrow afternoon. Notice by two or 3 p.m. storms are still mostly north and west of Raleigh Durham. But they start to push through from west to east after supper time. Uh, a better chance of storms is going to be farther east of the triangle and start to move east of I 95 after sunset, our chances will go down. But the next several days after that chances go up, you're looking at numerous to perhaps even widespread showers and storms. Thursday, perhaps Friday and Saturday. Friday looks like mostly south of the triangle. And that's where we see the chance for some local, I flash flooding. Hence the level two threat that you see there, that's a similar threat to what we had, uh, this past Friday. So for today, a high temperature near 100 tomorrow still well into the nineties gonna be awfully hot out there. Thursday. A little bit of relief but not much. The bigger relief comes later this week into the weekend, high temperatures are going to be well into the eighties. Keep checking back for updates as to how those rising rain chances could impact your weekend plans.</p>
