The WRAL Severe Weather Center has issued a Weather Alert Day due to the threat for wind damage and flooding with slow-moving storms expected to fire up west of the Triangle around 1 or 2 p.m. and slowly move east until 8 p.m.

<p>I'm meteorologist Chris Michaels. Today is a Wral weather alert days. We have a flood watch that's in effect from noon until midnight. Storm Prediction Center also has us in a level two out of five risk for damaging wind gusts with those same thunderstorms. So let's go ahead and show you futurecast and you'll notice that through midday, we are mostly dry as we had early in the afternoon. Here's 2 p.m. and you start to see those storms firing up. Radar is going to be lighting up here as we head deeper into the afternoon. There's 5 p.m. I do think there will be more storms around than what future cast is showing between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. But after eight or nine, that chance or that coverage of showers and storms will start to go down for us. Then as we head into Sunday, maybe a few morning showers in areas like Sampson and Wayne counties with our front that's gonna stall just south of here. So the best chance for storm Sunday is going to be near into the south of I 40. Not going to be quite as many storms Sunday as what we see today, 91 the high in the triangle prior to those storms today, tomorrow, high temperatures in the upper eighties. And of course, we're keeping an eye on tropical depression four impact start to our coastline starting Monday on clear when they end because this is going to be a very slow mover near the east coast. That's where we expect the greater impacts as you head further inland. It's a game of miles as to where exactly the center of the storm is going to be. The storm should become a tropical storm, Debbie at some point Saturday night or very early Sunday. That's when we expect a better look at the impacts. This is just preliminary rainfall casting here, you see the potential for 6 to 10 inches of rain near the coast. Lower totals as you head farther to the north and west updates any time on wral.com. So for the weekend, upper eighties, lower nineties Monday, Tuesday, we're expecting storms to be pretty isolated in the triangle. Then they start to become potentially a little more numerous. By the second half of the week. High temperatures mostly in the eighties.</p>
