WE'RE ASKING THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS WHEN HE ESCAPED HOW HE DID IT AND HOW EXTENSIVE THE SEARCH IS TO FIND WRAL'S. CARLY HAYNES JOINING US LIVE NOW IN THAT AREA WHERE HE WHERE HE TOOK OFF RUNNING CARLY. HERE IS THIS IS STILL A DAY IS LESS THAN A MILE AWAY FROM 3 DIFFERENT SCHOOLS THAT HAVE TO GO ON LOCKDOWN. AND TONIGHT LAW ENFORCEMENT IS STILL SEARCHING FOR THIS PRISONER. >> THEY SAY 40 YEAR-OLD JONATHAN MADE HAS AN EXTENSIVE CRIMINAL HISTORY AND HE HOPPED A FENCE UNNOTICED. EARLIER THIS MORNING, HE'S SERVING A FOUR-YEAR SENTENCE FOR BEING A HABITUAL FELON. >> PREVIOUS CHARGES, INCLUDING BREAKING AND ENTERING THAT AND ROCKS. LEE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL LEAD EARLY COLLEGE AND BRAG STREET ACADEMY WENT INTO SOFT LOCKDOWN FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. WE SPOKE WITH A STUDENT WHO SAID HE THOUGHT IT WAS A PRANK AT FIRST. >> IT DIDN'T FEEL REAL. SO I MEAN. >> AND AFTER THE LOCKDOWN GOT YOU COULD HEAR HELICOPTERS SWIRLING IN THE AIR. SO THEY'RE OBVIOUSLY THEY'RE TRYING TO STILL LOOK FOR HIM. I THINK IT'S FOUND. >> AND THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME A PERSON ESCAPED THE SAME FACILITY. THERE WERE INCIDENTS BACK IN 2022. AS WELL AS 2017. AND THIS IS A MINIMUM SECURITY PRISON FOR MEN. IT TENDS TO BE FOR PRISONERS. WE'RE SERVING
