SAW YOU TAKE A LOOK BEHIND ME. THIS IS THE CAROL, MY RESTAURANT. IT HAS BEEN A STAPLE HERE IN THE TRIAD COMMUNITY SITTING ALONG THE POPE, ITS A PACK, A LITTLE RIVER FOR DECADES. THERE USED TO BE A COVERED BRIDGE YEAR DECORATED IN LIGHTS THAT BUILDINGS USED TO BE SITUATED ON ITS FOUNDATION. BUT WHEN HELENE DROPPED ALL OF THAT RAIN, IT RACED THROUGH THIS VALLEY, TEARING UP ROADS, TEARING UP BRIDGES, LIFTING THIS ENTIRE BUILDING UP AND THEN DROPPING IT BACK DOWN, CRACKING AND CRUMBLING. IT FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE LIVED IN THIS COMMUNITY FOR YEARS. THEY SAY THIS HAS BEEN A STAPLE THAT THEY HAVE COME TO THAT THEY HAVE. SO LOOK FORWARD TO GOING TO NOW. THEY DON'T KNOW WHETHER THESE BUSINESS LIKE SO MANY OTHER BUSINESSES IS GOING TO BE ABLE TO COME BACK AND IT'S NOT JUST DISPLACED DAMAGE ALONG THE PACKET RIVER HERE IN TRYON. YOU LOOK DOWN THERE, YOU CAN SEE THERE'S A HOUSE DANGLING OVER THE RIVER WATERS NOW WE KNOW FROM NEIGHBORS THAT OTHER HOUSES FURTHER DOWNSTREAM WERE COMPLETELY SWEPT AWAY. THERE WERE ALSO BRIDGES THAT WERE ENTIRELY WASHED OUT HERE. WE HAVE SEEN SOME CREWS ON THE SCENE WORKING ON. ONE OF THOSE WAS SHOT. BUT THERE IS SO MUCH DAMAGE IN THIS COMMUNITY.
