<p>IN A SMALL PLANE CRASH. IN CHATHAM COUNTY. THE HIGHWAY PATROL HAS IDENTIFIED THE 2 PEOPLE KILLED IN A SMALL PLANE CRASH IN CHATHAM COUNTY ON FRIDAY. THEY WERE A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR AND A STUDENT. SEAN GALLAGHER IS LIVE IN CHATHAM COUNTY WITH MORE ON THE 2 MEN AND WHAT ELSE WE COULD LEARN IN THE COMING DAYS ABOUT THE CRASH ON. &gt;&gt; YEAH. CUE. LIKE YOU SAID THE HIGHWAY PATROL TELLS US THAT THE VICTIMS WERE THAT JOB. FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR AND HIS STUDENT DAY TOOK OFF FROM A SMALL AIRPORT IN SAN SOME ON FRIDAY. BUT THAT FLIGHT AND IT NEAR HERE AT THE SILER CITY AIRPORT. &gt;&gt; THE SILER CITY AIRPORT SEE SMALLER AIRCRAFT LIKE THESE FLY ONTO ITS RUNWAY. THE PLANE NOT TOO DIFFERENT IN SIZE FROM THE PIPER PA 28 1.40 THAT WENT DOWN NEAR BY FRIDAY. IT'S ACTUALLY GOING TO BE IN THE WOODS GUY. TROOPERS SAY INSIDE THAT PLANE, THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR MCMILLAN ABERNETHY OF BEECH MOUNTAIN AND HIS STUDENT, JUSTIN STRAUSS OF RALEIGH, BOTH KILLED WHEN THE PLANE WENT DOWN IN THE NEARBY WOODS AND CAUGHT FIRE A CHATHAM. IT DOES LOOK LIKE I HAVE ONE SO LONG BOARD. &gt;&gt; THEY DO. I DO HAVE TO RALLY EXACT JETPORT CONFIRMED FRIDAY. IT HAD A FLIGHT BELIEVE TO BE INVOLVED IN THE CRASH. ACCORDING TO THE COMPANY'S WEBSITE, ABERNATHY WAS A CERTIFIED FLIGHT. INSTRUCTOR IS BIO ON THE COMPANY CITES AS HE HAD A LIFELONG INTEREST IN AVIATION AND SPENT THE LAST 2 YEARS EARNING HE'S CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR LICENSE. &gt;&gt; IT INCLUDES A QUOTE FROM ABERNETHY SAYING HE UNDERSTANDS WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND THAT HE PURSUE TEACHING TO HELP OTHERS OBTAINED THEIR GOALS. AND IT WILL TAKE MONTHS UNTIL WE GET A FULL SCOPE OF WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS CRASH. WHILE THE NTSB CONDUCT A VERY THOROUGH INVESTIGATION. BUT THE FAA TELLS ME THEY SHOULD HAVE A PRELIMINARY REPORT ON THIS CRASH PUBLISHED SOMETIME TOMORROW. JUST GIVE US SOME IDEA WHY THAT PLANE CRASH.</p>
