A WRAL Weather Alert Day has been issued for Monday due to the threat of isolated tornadoes and flash flooding.

I'm meteorologist Chris Michaels. Today is a Wral weather alert day as we track more scattered storms into the afternoon that carry with them the potential to produce localized wind damage and flooding. I'll also show you why the tornado threat is low but not necessarily zero. This is something that's actually called the significant tornado parameter. It takes a bunch of different things into account. One of which being spin and you can see it's not off the charts. You see green shadings, especially south and east of the triangle, but it does show at least some potential that we're gonna monitor with dual Doppler 5000 as we go throughout the rest of the afternoon and evening notice. Yeah, as we head into the evening, there's still some spin, but I don't think there's gonna be a ton of storms around around 915 this evening. Let's go ahead and show you the storm activity future cast around noon. I think he's overdo it a little bit. The atmosphere is going to need a little more time to recharge. But if we head beyond one or 2 p.m. you notice, especially near into the east of the triangle is where we see the better chance for perhaps some stronger thunderstorms and localized flooding that's gonna last up until about 8 p.m. Even overnight. Can't rule out some showers and storms. But I do think that the threat for anything severe will be over by then. Pattern flip continues this week. It's not going to be all day rains, but each day does have the chance for showers and for thunderstorms, localized flooding is one thing we'll have to watch out for today. Yes, we already mentioned that. But also Thursdays, we have a front that's getting closer to us, taps into more of that tropical moisture and we see more numerous showers by then. So, uh we'll let you know if we have to issue another weather alert day by Thursday. But for right now have that book marked as a day that could have the potential for some flooding Tuesday, 91 the high Wednesday 89. And you see the chance for storms continuing through the later part of the week, getting even cooler Thursday and Friday with highs only 81 to 83 we turn warmer and drier, especially by Sunday of the upcoming weekend.
