Tropical storm Debby has formed Saturday afternoon in the Gulf of Mexico, and much of North Carolina is in its path. Model plots show the system impacting Florida this weekend and North Carolina next week.

All right, we check in with the tropics. Here is the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center winds continue to slowly increase here up to 45 miles an hour. Right now. It's still 100 miles southwest of Key West, pushing off coast there off the coast of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico, moving northwest at about 14 miles an hour. We look at the latest track. They have bumped up winds a little bit for the big bend to Florida. They were in the 70 miles, 75 I believe, mile per hour range is what they had. Now, they're 85. So they are continuing to show a category one hurricane coming in there and then a likely stall closer to the Carolinas. The center keep in mind could go anywhere within that shape that you see right there. So I know it's always kind of deceptive because it's right down the middle, but it could go on either side. In theory, most of the models look like they do take this probably into South Carolina with a landfall. Our biggest impacts at least at this point continue to look to be flash flooding potential heavy rainfall, lightning, we could see some very rough surf. The bulk of those impacts are going to be in the form of just water coming through a lot of it here into next week, hurricane warnings outlined there in the kind of purple, pink color contour up in the big bend of Florida. Tropical storm warnings including Tampa. I would expect a lot of those to kind of get pushed up the coast as we head through the next couple of days. Does that reach our area that's yet to be seen, but just make sure to keep checking back, we will continue to fine tune this forecast as we get closer.
