
McLean, VA โ December 12, 2022 โ Taking an important step to demonstrate its commitment to childrenโs privacy, Walmart joins BBB National Programsโ Childrenโs Advertising Review Unit (CARU) COPPA Safe Harbor Program to ensure that its new immersive Roblox experience complies with the stringent requirements of the Childrenโs Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and CARUโs Self-Regulatory Guidelines.
Walmart is certifying its new Roblox immersive experience, Walmartโs Universe of Play, with CARUโs COPPA Safe Harbor program.

BBB National Programsโ CARU COPPA Safe Harbor Program is the first and longest-running COPPA Safe Harbor Program in the U.S.ย and it is the only one designed to ensure both a companyโs products and the productโs advertising comply with COPPA and CARUโs Advertising and Privacy Guidelines.
โCompanies who participate in CARUโs COPPA Safe Harbor Program also comply with CARUโs Advertising Guidelines โ a set of standards for advertising that help ensure advertising directed to children is not deceptive, unfair, or inappropriate,โ said Dona Fraser, Senior Vice President, Privacy Initiatives, BBB National Programs.
